700 words; about a 4 minute read

Mission: Episode 1: "A House Divided"
Location: Captiol Building
Timeline: May 27th, 2041 - 1 Hour Russia Enters DMZ

The sound of the crowd murmurs, a mixture of hope and uncertainty. The heavy doors of the Capitol open, and President Jack Killright steps out, dressed in his sharp suit, his face a portrait of determination. He approaches the podium with purpose, his gaze firm yet compassionate. The room falls silent as he adjusts the microphone, his voice rising with strength and conviction.

“My fellow Americans,

He pauses for a moment, scanning the room, his eyes lingering on those who are waiting for words of strength—words of reassurance. He takes a deep breath and speaks with a calm yet resolute tone.

Over the past weeks, we have witnessed unimaginable pain, and still, we continue to stand in the face of terror. Our capital was attacked, our families were hurt, and the very heart of our democracy was shaken. But I am here today to say this: We are not broken. We are not defeated.

He leans forward, his gaze intensifying as his voice grows louder.

We have faced hardship before. We have faced the kind of evil that seeks to tear us apart, to make us doubt our strength and our unity. And every time, we have risen. We have come together, stronger than before, because that is who we are. We are a nation of fighters. We are a nation of survivors. And we will not let this attack define us.

He stands tall now, speaking with the power of someone who knows the weight of responsibility, who has lived through history’s challenges and is ready to face whatever comes next.

But while we face this enemy, we also face threats from abroad. To Russia, I say this—don’t mistake our resolve for weakness. The United States is still standing. We are still here, and we will not falter in our mission to protect what we hold dear. Your actions, fueled by the arrogance of thinking you can take advantage of our pain, will not go unchallenged.

He steps forward, his voice unwavering and filled with the fire of patriotism.

Remember this: We have helped those who have fought for their freedom. We have stood shoulder to shoulder with our allies in the past, against tyranny, against oppression. The former President of Russia sought to destroy what we hold sacred—and we stopped him. We fought for liberty. We fought for democracy. We fought for the belief that every person, regardless of where they are born, deserves the right to live freely and without fear.

He pauses, his hands gripping the podium as his voice softens, but his words carry an undeniable strength.

To our allies—those who have stood with us, who have trusted us in the darkest of times—know that we will always be there for you. We will not let your sacrifices be forgotten. We will not let any enemy think that, in our time of crisis, they can tear down the values we share.

His eyes burn with fierce resolve.

So, Russia, take heed: If you believe that the United States will turn inward, that our fight against terror will make us turn a blind eye to the defense of freedom across the world, you are gravely mistaken. We will not stand by while you threaten another democracy. The world is watching, and we will rise to the occasion. We will defend what is right, and we will defend it with everything we have.

He straightens, his voice steady and commanding.

This is a time for courage. This is a time for strength. This is a time for us to come together and show the world who we are.

We will not let fear rule us. We will not let evil triumph. We will rise, as we always have, and we will fight for the freedom we cherish. Together, we will overcome.

Thank you. And may God bless America.”

With those final words, President Killright stands tall, his gaze sweeping over the audience, knowing the weight of what he just said—and knowing, without a doubt, that his nation will answer the call.
