Statement from Vice President John W. Franklin
May 17, 2041
My fellow Americans,
Three days ago, our nation was shaken to its core by an unprecedented and devastating attack that claimed the life of President Carlos Vanes, his Cabinet, and many of our dedicated public servants. As we continue to grieve, we also continue to stand—stronger, more determined, and united in the face of adversity.
President Jack Killright and I, alongside Congress, our military, and law enforcement agencies, are working around the clock to ensure the stability and security of our nation. The investigation into this coordinated attack is ongoing, and I assure you—justice will be swift, and those responsible will be held accountable.
At this moment, our enemies may believe they have weakened us. They are mistaken. This government is fully operational. Our military remains vigilant. Our intelligence agencies are working tirelessly. And above all, the American spirit remains unbroken.
In the coming days, President Killright will address the nation to outline our course of action. Until then, I ask for your trust, your patience, and your resilience. We will not let fear dictate our future. We will move forward, together, as we always have.
God bless President Vanes. God bless his Cabinet. And God bless the United States of America.
John W. Franklin
Vice President of the United States
